Welcome to the William Temple Academy Trust’s website.
The Trust was established on 12 December 2013 to run primary academies in the Diocese of York’s family of schools. It is the Diocese’s first academy trust for primaries. It is our intention to build a community of excellent academies in East Yorkshire under the leadership of the Diocese and the Archbishop – John Sentamu.
Our first schools, Easington Church of England Primary Academy and Patrington Church of England Primary Academy opened as academies in April 2014. We are situated in the eastern edge of the diocese and intend to grow the community of primaries as time and activities permit.
We fully encourage the support of our parents and carers in their child's education and host a very wide range of workshops to support our families with their child's learning - please see our calendar of events.
All new academy trusts managing primaries will named after Archbishops of York and it is fitting that William Temple, Archbishop in 1929 – 1942 who then became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1942 should be the name of the first multiple academy trust in the diocese. He was a great educator having been headmaster of a school when first ordained.
